Nevada’s legislature has approved a bill that targets juvenile prostitution.

John Hambrick, the bill’s sponsor, tells OneNewsNow that the problem is serious — especially in Las Vegas.

“Last year and the year before, the Metropolitan Police Department Vice Squad arrested roughly 207 pre-teenage prostitutes,” he notes, “and they were prostituted out between 10 and 15 times a day, six days a week.”

CARSON CITY — Pimps who lure children into prostitution would lose their personal assets and be fined as much as $500,000 under a bill that won unanimous approval Monday in the Senate. Assembly Bill 380 has already cleared the Assembly and now goes to Gov. Jim Gibbons for his signature.
